PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a trouble of formation of black smoke from an exhaust pipe, engine stall or the like without making air-fuel ratio rich even if acceleration and deceleration are repeated in a short period of time when delay to response from detection of acceleration state till fuel increase is large. SOLUTION: In a fuel supply control method of an internal combustion engine increasing fuel for acceleration and injecting the same form an injection device when an electronic control device 1 detects transient state such as acceleration based on data at least throttle valve opening, engine load (intake pressure) or the like, fuel increase for acceleration is prohibited when total fuel injection quantity per unit time exceeds a fixed value.
