The device has a digital camera system (3) comprising an image detector e.g. charge coupled camera device, with a fisheye lens in a pressure-tight housing (4), where the system is designed as a thermal imaging device. An upper end (1a) of mast device turned away from a submarine (2) is provided in the system. The system has a communication unit (3a) to transmit and receive information, where the unit is connected with an inner side of the submarine over electrical connections (6a, 6b) designed as an electrical cable. The system is arranged in an antenna device (5).
