METHOD FOR REUSING SHREDDER DUST AND RAW MATERIAL/FUEL BODY FOR STEELMAKING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize resins sorted, processed and recovered from shredder dust as a heat source of an electric furnace for steelmaking when shredder dust is thrown in the electric furnace for steelmaking and reused as the heat source of the electric furnace for steelmaking.

SOLUTION: The method for reusing shredder dust comprises the steps of: sorting resins from shredder dust and processing the sorted resins to recover the processed resins; mixing the recovered resins with iron; heating/compressing the obtained mixture to mold a raw material/fuel body. An extrusion molding machine can be used when the raw material/fuel body is molded. The ratio of the recovered resins to iron is adjusted so that the bulk density of the molded raw material/fuel body is 1.5-2.5 t/m3. The molded raw material/fuel body is thrown in the electric furnace and made to function as the heat source and a carburization source.
