PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition, especially a sunscreen emulsion, producible under mild conditions, free of shininess when applied, with no whitening, no stickiness, no fluffiness, and having excellent sunlight-screening effect. SOLUTION: The composition is provided by comprising, in a cosmetially acceptable carrier, at least one UV ray filtering agent and at least one aqueous phase, characterised in that it contains at least one apolar wax having a melting point of higher than or equal to 30°C and a fusion enthalpy of less then 250 J/g. Uses of the at least one apolar wax as defined in the above in the composition, for the purpose of reducing or eliminating shininess and/or reducing or eliminating stickiness or reducing or eliminating whitening and/or reducing or eliminating fluffiness and/or increasing the UV ray protecting factor(SPF) are also provided.
