<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out a high-quality folding process to paper of irregular size. <P>SOLUTION: In this device, information on irregular size and a folding method from an image forming device is received as paper of the irregular size is carried in. It is then moved to the home position with a first and a second guide plates to be carried into the folding device ZF. As an inlet sensor is put on (S301), counting of the pulse number of a stepping motor which rotates a carrying roller is started (S302). When the inlet sensor is put off, counting is ended (S304), and both guide plates are moved by a quantity computed based on the counted number and the folding method (S305-S307).
