PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve absorbability of shock compared with conventional ones to improve product protection. SOLUTION: A shock-absorbing medium 10 is such structured that a bottom of a space surrounded by peripheral walls 11 and 12 is closed by a closure 13. The peripheral wall 12 extending in the X-direction has a step 12c, and the closure 13 has a protrusion 15 protruding from an internal surface 13a higher than the step 12. The protrusion 15 is of a hollow structure with a recess 16 formed by denting an external surface 13b of the closure 13. When a shock is applied, the protrusion 15 deforms to absorb the shock. When the shock is strong, the protrusion 15 sinks, the closure 13 is moved to have the recess 16 expanded, and a product is received by a protruding end 15a of the protrusion 15 and the step 12c of the peripheral wall 12 to absorb the shock.
