<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical appliance having a coating layer with superior durability and lubricity avoiding adhesion of lubricant components to lenses without any elution of the lubricant components in use, and also to provide a surface treatment method of a base material for forming a coating layer on the base material surface. <P>SOLUTION: This medical appliance has the coating layer with superior lubricity formed by cross-linking mixture containing a zwitterion compound and a hydrophilic polymer. Preferably, the anion of the zwitterion compound is anion selected from a group formed of a carboxylate ion, a sulfate ion and a phosphate ion and cation is ammonium ion. The zwitterion compound is preferably 2-(methacryloyloxy)ethyl-2-(triethyl ammonium)ethyl phosphate. Preferably, the mixture further contains a cross-linking agent. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
