<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terminal device capable of displaying an arbitrary character in a predetermined character code, while suppressing battery consumption in a sensor node. <P>SOLUTION: The character data display method is applied to a radio terminal device which is provided with a control device for controlling a radio communication circuit and a display device and displays a character message received from a base station on the display device, based on a preset character code, and the radio terminal device acquires the character code from the received message (P811), retrieving only character font data of preset frequent utilization kinds of characters from a pre-stored character font storage part (P813), to search for a character font data corresponding to the acquired character code; and when the corresponding character font data are not included in the character font data storage part, as a result of this retrieval, the radio terminal device demands the character font data with respect to the base station (P821), downloading the character font data from the base station (P823), converting the character font data acquired from the retrieval or downloading into a drawing data and outputing the data to the display device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
