CODING PROCESSING DEVICE AND METHOD THEREFOR, PROGRAM, AND RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coding processing device capable of easily reproducing an image having resolutions different in horizontal and vertical directions by re-configuring code strings of code data with a code data level at a high speed without reproducing image data.

SOLUTION: The image data are compressed and coded in accordance with the JPEG 2000 algorithm to generate code data comprising code strings corresponding to sub-bands on one-by-one basis. The code strings corresponding to sub-bands including code strings corresponding to at least the LL sub-bands are recorded in a code string recording means, and the code strings corresponding to the sub-bands recorded in the code string recording means are edited to generate new code data.
