An RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) authentication system and a method thereof are provided to usefully apply to a low price type tag, detect or prevent retransmission and spoofing attack, and offer recovery when a message is missed. The tag(420) stores an ID, generates/transmits a hash function value of the ID to a reader(420) if a query is received, generates/transmits a right half to the reader if a left half of the hash function value connecting/operating the ID and a random number is received, and updates an XOR value of the ID and the random number if tag authentication is completed. The reader transmits the hash function value to a database(440) if the hash function value is received by sending the query to the tag, and transmits the left half and the random number to the tag if the hash value connecting/operating the ID and the random number is received from the database. The database is equipped with tag information, the ID, the hash value of the ID, and a random number generator. |
