PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems that variations in the thickness of a light-emitting layer 6 in a light-emitting region LA occur by a level difference of the end part PO on the side for regulating the light-emitting region LA, and distribution of light-emitting brightness in the light-emitting region LA does not become uniform by differences in current density accompanying the occurrence upon installing a pixel regulation layer 8 for regulating the light-emitting region LA between an anode 3 and a cathode 7 when an organic electroluminescent element 1 is formed by a process including a coating process. SOLUTION: This element has the anode 3 into which positive holes are injected, the light-emitting layer 6, the cathode 7 into which electrons are injected, and the pixel regulation layer 8 in which the light-emitting region of the light-emitting layer 6 is regulated by controlling at least one injection out of positive hole injection or electron injection.
