PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress abnormal alignment of liquid crystal molecules of an MVA liquid crystal display panel. SOLUTION: The multi-domain vertical alignment liquid crystal display device includes an upper substrate, a lower substrate parallel to the upper substrate, a liquid crystal layer disposed between the upper substrate and the lower substrate, a common electrode which is disposed between the liquid crystal layer and the upper substrate and has an upper saw-tooth pattern part formed in a saw-tooth shape at least one place, and a pixel electrode which is disposed between the liquid crystal layer and the lower substrate and has a lower saw-tooth pattern part formed in a saw-tooth shape at at least one place. The upper saw-tooth pattern part comprises a main slit formed in the common electrode and a plurality of sub-slits extending from both sides of the main slit. The lower saw-tooth pattern part comprises a main slit formed in the pixel electrode and a plurality of sub-slits extending from both sides of the main slit. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
