A tire pressure monitoring system for a vehicle and a control method of the same are provided to reduce weight and a cost as much as one initiator by installing only three initiators to each three wheel. A tire pressure monitoring system for a vehicle comprises pneumatic sensors(2a,2b,2c,2d) installed to each wheel to sense the pneumatics and temperature of a tire while maintaining a wake-up condition; initiators(4a,4b,4c,4d) installed to only three wheels among four wheels to transmit the position information of the tire to the pneumatic sensor; a receiver(10) receiving the position information of the tire transmitted from the initiator and the pneumatics and temperature of each tire from the pneumatic sensor to judge whether or not the tire is steady; and an indicator(20) lighting an alarming light when a system error happens and the pneumatics of the tire decreases according to a control signal of the receiver.
