<p>A method for transmitting/receiving data in a mobile terminal is provided to execute data transmission/reception more speedily by previously calculating a communication setup value of a sector to which a mobile terminal will move. A mobile terminal, connected with the first sector, detects a data signal received from the first sector and measures RSSI(Received Signal Strength Indicator) of the first sector, based on the received data signal(S1,S2). The mobile terminal compares the RSSI of the first sector with a preset reference value(S3). In case the RSSI of the first sector is less than the preset reference value, the mobile terminal detects a signal received from the second sector adjacent to the first sector as maintaining connection with the first sector(S4). Then the mobile terminal makes a request for sector information to the second sector(S5). Based on the sector information received from the second sector, the mobile terminal calculates a communication setup value for connection to the second sector(S6,S7). The second sector allocates a data rate according to the calculated communication setup value. Also, the second sector allocates a time slot according to the allocated data rate. The mobile terminal covers the allocated time slot with a sector cover based on the calculated communication setup value and executes data transmission/reception with the second sector(S8,S9).</p> |
