A plasma display panel is provided to improve an exhaust characteristic thereof by forming an empty space between a front substrate and a rear substrate, thereby improving an image quality. A plasma display panel includes a front substrate(101), a rear substrate(111) adhered to the front substrate at a certain interval, and barrier ribs(112) defining discharge cells between the front substrate and the rear substrate. The barrier ribs are formed at different heights. A difference between the highest barrier rib and the lowest barrier rib is in the range of 5 to 10 of an average height of the barrier ribs. A concave portion is formed on a surface of an upper portion of each barrier rib. The barrier ribs are either of a closed type and an opened type.
