Pyridine derivatives of formula (I) and pharmaceutical compositions containing these compounds are disclosed, wherein the variables are as defined in the specification. These compounds and pharmaceutical compositions are suitable for treating pain and diseases that are caused directly or indirectly by an increase or decrease in activity of the cannabinoid receptor CB2.
