PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device or method for fractionation for efficiently removing an unnecessary protein or peptide and recovering a necessary protein or peptide at a high recovery rate from an aqueous solution containing proteins and peptides. SOLUTION: An aqueous solution containing a plurality of kinds of proteins or peptides is treated by being brought into contact with a separation membrane and the obtained filtrate is brought into contact with a separation membrane with a smaller pore size. The obtained aqueous solution containing proteins or peptides is characterized by containing salts of a concentration of not lower than 50 mmol/l and not higher than 500 mmol/l and having a pH of higher than 5 and lower than 10.
