PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging unit for an electronic endoscope, which can contribute to the downsizing of the electronic endoscope and an improvement in the performance of the electronic endoscope by enabling outer edges of a plurality of signal wires connected to a connection land to become small, even in the case of a structure preventing the intrusion of steam, moisture, etc. even if sterilization treatment by high-temperature and high-pressure steam is performed. SOLUTION: The plurality of connecting lands 10, to which the plurality of signal wires 12 of a signal cable 11 are individually connected, are arranged on the outer peripheral part of a part to a back end of a solid imaging element holding frame 9; a back end of an airtight connecting tube 13 is airtightly fixed to an outer peripheral part of the holding frame 9 in a position to a front side with respect to the connecting land 10; and an outer edge D of the signal wire 12, which is connected to the connecting land 10, is housed in the outer shape of an airtight connecting tube 13.
