PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing candies with cracks enabling a large amount of candies to get brittle at a time without causing dew condensation nor breakage during a production process so as to obtain candies having good flavor and low calories. SOLUTION: The method for producing candies with cracks comprises the following process: soaking an externally packaged lump of a plurality of candies each individually packaged, in liquid nitrogen to make them brittle so as to enable a large amount of candies to get brittle at a time without causing dew condensation nor breakage in a production process so that the obtained candies with cracks have good meltability in the mouth, light palate feeling, and collapsed properties due to the cracks freely formed on the candy; making the candies comprise sugar alcohol so as to obtain low-calorie candies with cracks hardly causing tooth decay. When using candies comprising a center layer and a soft coating layer coating the center layer, only the center layer is made brittle to make candies with cracks having more peculiar palate feeling than ever.
