TORQUE LIMITING MECHANISM, AND TRANSMISSION RATIO VARIABLE MECHANISM PROVIDED WITH TORQUE LIMITING MECHANISM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize rotation torque to generate slip of a torque limiting ring in a motor shaft lock mechanism of a transmission ratio variable mechanism.

SOLUTION: A rubber member 56 is provided between an inner circumferential surface of a lock ring 54 and one side surface sideαof the torque limiting ring 55 having a projection 55a, so that relative rotation between the inner circumferential surface of the lock ring 54 and the torque limiting ring 55 is prevented. Slip is generated between an outer circumferential surface of a motor shaft 48 and a contact surface part 55b formed on the other side surface sideβof the torque limiting ring 55. The motor shaft 48 is thus rotatable to a lower housing 19. As a result, the value of the rotation torque to generate slip between the motor shaft 48 and the lock ring 54 is stabilized to a predetermined set value.
