PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily manage files even if the number of the files to be managed, including video files, increases. SOLUTION: The file system information includes the file entry that describes the recorded position of a video file. The file entry contains a 1st allocation descriptor that includes the length and position information of the extent. The position of a 2nd non-recorded area not allocated on the information recording medium is shown in the space table included in the file system information. The space table includes a space entry that has a 2nd allocation descriptor but is not allocated.
