PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wet developer having high storage stability and good positive charging property. SOLUTION: The liquid developer uses vegetable oil as a carrier liquid, wherein a colorant has positive charging property and comprises a benzimidazole pigment represented by formula 1 and a charge control agent of straight polarity, wherein R1 is OCH<SB>3</SB>, COOCH<SB>3</SB>or COOC<SB>4</SB>H<SB>9</SB>(n); R2 is NO<SB>2</SB>, H, CONHC<SB>6</SB>H<SB>5</SB>or SO<SB>2</SB>NHCH<SB>3</SB>; and R is H or CH<SB>3</SB>.
