<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spherical activated carbon which is properly spherical and has adsorptive action and optionally a function of decomposing the adsorbed substance by producing spherical tannin particles from a natural plant tannin and activating the particles by carbonization. <P>SOLUTION: The spherical tannin particles which optionally contain a compound which catalyzes a photochemical reaction during the production of the particles are produced from a natural plant tannin. The spherical activated carbon is properly spherical, is capable of being changed in its properties as activated carbon, such as a specific surface area, a pore diameter, a pore volume, and a pore size distribution, and optionally has the function of decomposing and removing the absorbed substance by a photocatalytic reaction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
