PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold cleaning apparatus and a mold cleaning method, which are suitable for the cleaning of an ultrafine mold. SOLUTION: This single tank-type mold cleaning apparatus comprises: one cleaning tank for sequentially and continuously performing electrolytic cleaning, water washing and drying; an electrode for electrolytic cleaning, which is immersed in an electrolytic cleaning liquid to be supplied into the cleaning tank; a metal holding means on which the mold to be cleaned is placed, and which makes the mold immersed in the electrolytic cleaning liquid in the cleaning tank and taken out from the cleaning tank; a lid for closing a top surface opening of the cleaning tank; a means for discharging the electrolytic cleaning liquid from the inside of the cleaning tank; a means for emitting a jet of cleaning water into the cleaning tank by using required pressure; and a means for supplying clean air for drying, a vacuum or an inert gas into the cleaning tank. In the electrolytic cleaning, the electrode and the metal holding means are connected to the positive and negative sides of a power source, so that the mold can be electrolytically cleaned by passing an electric current through the electrolytic cleaning liquid.
