PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device that can restrain flickers from being generated due to the temporal change or temperature change of the light quality of a backlight or a light source lamp. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is provided with an active matrix type LCD panel; a temperature detector for detecting the temperature in the vicinity of the LCD panel; and a common voltage control means for controlling a common voltage to be applied on common electrodes of the LCD panel, on the basis of the temperature detected by the temperature detector. A controller for controlling the common voltage so that the common voltage becomes higher, the higher the temperature detected by the temperature detector is used as the common voltage control means.
