PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phthalocyanine compound containing no halogen, having a green hue and resistances to organic solvents and acids. SOLUTION: The phthalocyanine compound is represented by general formula (1), [in general formula (1), M is a divalent to quadrivalent metal atom or two hydrogen atoms; rings A<SP>1</SP>, A<SP>2</SP>, A<SP>3</SP>and A<SP>4</SP>are each independently a benzene ring or a structure represented by general formula (2), provided that at least one of the rings A<SP>1</SP>, A<SP>2</SP>, A<SP>3</SP>and A<SP>4</SP>is a structure represented by general formula (2); and in general formula (2), R is hydrogen, a 1-4C alkyl, phenyl, tolyl, or xylyl].
