A METHOD FOR IMPLEMENTING A MULTI-MEDIA RINGBACK AND A SYSTEM THEREOF

A method for implementing a multi-media ringback comprises: when the MSC server of the calling party receives a call, it will initiate a call to the MSC server of the called party, then the MSC server of the calling party receives a notify from the MSC server of the called party that the called party is successfully called; the media capability negotiation between the calling user and the MSR is carried out, then THE MSC server of the calling party informs the MRS to play a multi-media ringback to the calling user, the MRS plays a multi-media ringback to the calling user according to the result of the media capability negotiation. A system for implementing a multi-media ringback comprises: HLR, MSC server, MRS and Media Gateway MGW, the MSC server connects to the HLR, MRS and MGW respectively, the MRS connects to the MGW. The present solution enables the multi-media service to apply to the 3G network; furthermore, it enables the original audio ringback service in the hybrid network of 3G and 2G, and the 3G network to coexist with the multimedia ringback service, thus to ensure the normal use of the ringback service.
