A TELESCOPIC COVER FOR A MACHINE TOOL

A telescopic cover of a machine tool is provided to simplify the structure for supporting an inner cover body with an outer cover body and to utilize the whole outer and inner cover bodies of the telescopic cover. A machine tool(1) comprises a supporting base body(2); a column(3) erected at the rear side of the supporting base body; a Y-way driving tool(5) installed at the front side of the column to transfer a movable table(22) in a Y direction; and an X-way driving tool(6) transferring the movable table in an X direction vertical about the Y direction. The X-way driving tool has a pair of left and right telescopic covers connected with the movable table to cover left and right parts of the movable table respectively to the upper side. The left telescopic cover has an outer cover body and an inner cover body overlapped with each other possibly to be relatively moved and extended. Each set of cover bodies has a pair of guiding members elongated in parallel to the extension on both lateral walls of the outer cover body; and a pair of guided members protruded from a base end of the lateral wall of the inner cover body toward the outer cover along the extension and combined with the guiding members slidingly.
