<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio controlled timepiece for enhancing the reception success rate of standard frequency transmission. <P>SOLUTION: This radio controlled timepiece is equipped with an electric wave intensity determination part 6 for determining the electric wave intensity of the standard frequency transmission received by a reception part 2, and a storage part 7 for storing therein an electric wave intensity determination result by the determination part 6 and electric wave intensity detection starting time. The timepiece has an electric wave intensity detection mode for repeating a minimum-required receiving function of relatively short time in every prescribed time period in order for the determination part 6 to determine the intensity of the standard frequency transmission, and a normal reception mode for performing a minimum-required receiving function of relatively long time in order to obtain time information from the standard frequency transmission. The timepiece executes the detection mode with prescribed timing (by an arbitrary button operation made by a timepiece user, for example) to store electric wave intensity detection starting time in the storage part 7 when the wave intensity is not less than a prescribed level during one day, and the reception part 2 receives the standard frequency transmission at the starting time stored in the storage part 7 when the wave intensity is not less than the prescribed level. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
