An LCOS(Liquid Crystal On Silicon) panel assembly of a projection system is provided to prevent particles from infiltrating into the LCOS panel assembly through an opened portion of an LCOS panel and prevent the LCOS panel for being deformed due to stress generated in components of the LCOS panel assembly. An LCOS panel assembly of a projection system includes an LCOS panel(175), a panel supporting part(154) for supporting the LCOS panel in front of the LCOS panel, a 1/4 wavelength plate holder(153) for holding a 1/4 wavelength plate(151), and a sealer(157) and/or an adhesive agent interposed between the panel supporting part and the LCOS panel. The panel supporting part is fixed to a quad. The 1/4 wavelength plate holder is rotatably set in front of the panel supporting part.
