A method and an apparatus for storing an image by interworking with a phone book in case of video call communication are provided to store a phone number together with a current image, an arbitrary name or a name inputted by a user in a phone book when a phone number of the other party does not exist in the phone book during video call communication. When a phone book connection key is inputted during video call communication, a current image is stored(203,206,209). When a phone number of the other party for the video call communication exists in the phone book, the image is stored in association with the corresponding phone number(212,218). When the phone number of the other party does not exist in the phone book, a corresponding phone number is added to the phone book and the image is stored in association with the corresponding phone number(215,218).
