PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the whole light volume of multi-beams emitted from a plurality of laser resonators to be constant, and to extend lives of the plurality of laser resonators in a laser image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The laser image forming apparatus has the plurality of laser resonators, and multiplexes and uses light beams of≤(N-1) by setting the total light beams emitted from the plurality of laser resonators to be N. The deterioration of each laser resonator is diagnosed to control a driving current value, and to stop current injection for substituting another laser resonator. Thus, the life of each laser resonator is extended, and high-luminance images can be provided for a long period of time by the laser image forming apparatus. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
