PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator having an air passage configuration that provides a feeling of roominess to the eyes of users while rationally cooling the inside of a chamber divided into right and left parts by a partition wall. SOLUTION: A first partition wall 106 is provided in depth direction behind the mating parts of two doors, i.e., a retractable door 109 and a hinged door 110 that open and close the front opening of an upper section 104 while dividing the front opening into right and left parts, with a predetermined space 112 secured between the first partition wall and the doors, to partition the inside of a storage room into a right area 108 and a left area 107. The space 112 is formed into a cold air circulating part where the right area 108 and the left area 107 are communicated with each other to cause circulation of cold air. A cold air outlet 124 is provided in only one of the areas and a cold air inlet 125 is provided in only the other of the areas, whereby extension of the first partition wall 106 to the front opening is prevented to avoid a feeling of tightness or pressure inside and to create a feeling of roominess due to the right and left spaces visually communicated with each other via the space 112, while rationally creating a cold air passage for supplying cold air between the right and left areas through the space 112.
