PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for manufacturing a formed component which enable a local or continuous improvement in the strength of the material of a formed component in spite of an integrated component, a reduction in the weight of the component, and a control of the three-dimensional structure and the plate thickness of the component. SOLUTION: A thickened portion Z thicker than the plate thickness t0 of a blank material is locally or continuously formed by forging on a forming material P, which is composed of a metallic plate gripped between forging dies 4, 5, by applying a compressive force to the forming material P from the direction perpendicular to its thickness. Further, the formed component W is produced by press-forming the forming material P such that the thickened portion Z coincides with a bent portion 3.
