Method for adjusting the acoustic properties of a combustion chamber

The method involves determining an acoustic inherent mode of an output burner chamber (10), adjusting the acoustic resonator so that it has a resonance within the range of the inherent frequency of same, acoustically exciting the output burner chamber and recording the resulting frequency spectrum and comparing a first inherent mode of the output burner chamber resonator combination below the inherent mode of the output burner chamber and a second inherent mode of the output burner chamber resonator combination above the inherent mode of the output burner chamber as regards intensity and and/or half power bandwidth, and then modifying the resonator where necessary so that the first inherent mode of the combination and the second inherent mode of the combination have approximately the same intensity and/or half power band with in the frequency spectrum.
