METHOD AND DEVICE FOR EMBODYING OSD BY EMPLOYING PREVIEW MEMORY

A method and apparatus for executing OSD(On Screen Display) using a preview memory are provided to execute OSD using only a memory space for preview without requiring an additional memory space for OSD so as to improve efficiency of the memory. An OSD execution instruction is inputted. OSD image information including OSD image data corresponding to the OSD execution instruction is extracted from an image storage unit. An OSD region corresponding to preview image data is recognized using the OSD image information and pixel values of the preview image data, and the OSD image data are loaded to a preview memory. The image data is displayed such that the image data corresponds to the pixel values loaded to the preview memory.
