PORTABLE TERMINAL AND USB DEVICE

A portable terminal and a USB(Universal Serial Bus) device are provided to promote miniaturization of the portable terminal without reducing the number of functions usable to a user. A USB port(121) receives a USB connector of the USB device. A power supply terminal supplies power for operating the USB device by connecting to a power terminal of the USB device in a state that the USB connector is inserted into the USB port. A controller(1200) starts to supply the power from the power supply terminal in case that an application program using the USB device is started. In the case that the USB port receives a connection establishment request within a specific time after power supply is started, the controller establishes connection with the USB device. In the case that the USB port does not receive the connection establishment request within the specific time, the controller outputs a message for pressing a user to mount the USB device.
