METHOD OF DISPLAYING LIST OF ITEMS IN PORTABLE TERMINAL AND PORTABLE TERMINAL EMBODYING THE SAME METHOD

A method for displaying a list in a portable terminal and the portable terminal for realizing the same are provided to enable a user to know a location or an order that a selected item occupies at total item list by using a location where an item, selected from an item list including at least one item, is displayed on a screen, thereby not needing to confirm a location, which a specific item occupies at the total list, through a scroll bar. A method for displaying a list in a portable terminal comprises the following steps of: selecting a specific item among at least one item by a selection indicator, moving on a screen, according to a signal inputted from the outside on the screen displaying the item list(S410); and displaying the at least one item including the selected item on the screen in an assigned display order(S440). In the above second step, a location where the selected item is displayed is decided according to a ratio of the display order, assigned to the selected item, to the number of items included in the item list(S420).
