A folder type mobile terminal having a variable grounding unit is provided to improve performance of an antenna unit that has a relatively low coupling by performing selective grounding according to opening/closing of a folder. A main body(110) includes a main board(116). A folder(120) performs an opening/closing operation at a certain angle with respect to the main body(110). A hinge module(10) opens/closes the folder(120) with respect to the main body(110), and includes elements at least one of which is made of a metallic material. A metallic plate spring(60) selectively connects a grounding part of the main board(110) to the element of the metallic material of the hinge module(10) according to an opening/closing operation of the folder(120).
