<p>Some of the mixture is recycled and returned to the mixing chamber as the liquid component. A method for mixing a liquid and powder together comprises supplying the powder to the top of a mixing chamber and recycling at least part of the mixture so that it is returned to the chamber and forms at least part of the liquid component. The liquid is distributed over internal wall surfaces inside the chamber and accumulates in the bottom of the chamber. The powder is distributed over the liquid surface and then dispersed in the liquid to form a mixture. An independent claim is also included for the process apparatus comprising a mixing chamber with a first inlet for the powder at one end, a second inlet for the liquid and an outlet for the mixture at the opposite end, as well as a pump or homogenizer connected to the chamber outlet. The pump or homogenizer outlet is connected to via a first pipe to a control valve for removing part of the mixture and via a second pipe to a control valve for returning some of the mixture to the second inlet.</p> |
