A sub impact buffering device of a vehicle steering column is provided to absorb impact caused by deformation when a fixed portion is injured and moved by a capsule and a shearing pin in a collision with a sub impact buffering means, to prevent moving stroke from being generated for absorbing impact, and to thereby prevent interference with surrounding components. A sub impact buffering device(4) of a vehicle steering column comprises a combining bracket(5) combined to cover the upper portion of a lateral supporting bracket(3') forming both lateral portions of a tilting unit(3); a capsule(6) fitted along the length of the combining bracket to mount/fix the combining bracket on a vehicle body by intermediation of a combining bolt; a curling plate(8) penetrated through an opening hole(5b) formed on a lateral flange(5a) curved to shape the lateral side of the combining bracket except a capsule fitted portion, and arranged along the length of the combining bracket to be deformed by given impact so as to absorb the impact; and a rubber position fixing pin(7) locating the curling plate to the capsule portion of the combining bracket to be displaced by the impact.
