An automatic power cutoff device of an electric heat apparatus is provided to prevent fire by automatically shutting off power supplied to the electric heat apparatus such as an iron when plugging into a receptacle for a long time without using the electric heat apparatus. An automatic power cutoff device of an electric heat apparatus includes a power supply unit for supplying power to the electric heat apparatus, a capacitive sensor(20) installed in a handle of the electric heat apparatus to output different capacitance in operating the electric heat apparatus by holding with a hand or in releasing the handle, a timer circuit(30) for counting rest time by receiving capacitance from the capacitive sensor, and a power control unit(40) for cutting off power supplied to the electric heat apparatus from the power supply unit in case of the counted rest time to be over the predetermined time. The capacitive sensor is embedded in the handle of the electric heat apparatus such as an iron.
