PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a processing time in heat-compression molding of timber and obtain a product having a stable quality without swell deformation after work. SOLUTION: The timber NW1 is placed in an inner space IS of an upper platen 11A and a lower platen 21A of a press machine 10A and is thermally molded with pressure, and the tightly sealed state of the inner space IS is maintained. In this case, steam of high temperature and high pressure in the compression surface of the timber NW1 and the inner space IS can freely pass through via a protrusion 24 formed on the lower platen 21A and capable of entering the timber NW1. The inner space IS is relieved from the tightly sealed state after a predetermined time. The circulation of the steam of high temperature and high pressure in the tightly sealed inner space IS unifors the pressure of the steam existing in the timber NW1 and the inner space IS. By this it is possible to prevent the swell of the plastic-processed timber taken out from the platen without cooling it and to obtain the plastic-processed timber having the stable quality.
