PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection sensor which is provided with a key lock function for preventing a set condition from being changed even when an operator touches an operation key by mistake during a detection operation and which is excellent in operability and inexpensive. SOLUTION: A fiber sensor 1 is provided with a detecting part 40 composed of a light projecting element 41 and a light receiving element 45, receives light emitted from the light projecting element 51 by the light receiving element 45, and detects presence/absence of an object W to be detected on the basis of a change in received light quantity. The fiber sensor 1 is provided with the key lock function, which is set by switches 11 and 12 and a rotary operating element 15, that is, by a sensor side. When a key lock is operated, a threshold is prevented from being changed by mistake during detection, and setting the key lock and releasing the key lock is easily performed on the spot.
