PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid level detection device capable of elongating a lifetime by suppressing corrosion even when used in conductive liquid. SOLUTION: This liquid level detection device 1 equipped with a liquid level detection sensor 2 for outputting a signal for showing a liquid level fluctuation as a change of resistance value by being slid on an electrode whose contact 2a is connected to a resistor 2b, and a control part 4 for controlling power supply and stop thereof at a prescribed interval to the liquid level detection sensor 2 is provided with a vehicle state determination part for determining the vehicle state. When the vehicle is determined to be in the traveling state by the vehicle state determination part, the control part 4 elongates a period when the power supply to the liquid level detection sensor 2 is stopped furthermore than the prescribed interval.
