PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat cycle device provided with a Rankine cycle, capable of improving the startability of the Rankine cycle while securing reliability of component equipment of the cycle. SOLUTION: Refrigerant pressure in high pressure piping 6 and a first bypass passage downstream part 11b is maintained at a high pressure by means of a control valve 5, a switching valve 7, and a relief valve 9 when operation of this heat cycle device is stopped. Start performance of the Rankine cycle is thus improved. In a case where cooling medium pressure is a set pressure or over, refrigerant is released to a low pressure part by means of the relief valve 9, thereby reliability of the component equipment of the cycle is secured.
