<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording material whose light stain generation is inhibited. <P>SOLUTION: This recording material has a recording layer containing a diazonium salt encapsulated in a microcapsule and a coupler which develops color through a chemical reaction with the diazonium salt, on a support. In addition, the recording material has a chemical compound represented by formula (1). encapsulated in a microcapsule.
