A display device and a driving method thereof are provided to improve image quality by applying data signals with different polarities to data pixels in a display panel. A display device includes a display panel(100), a timing controller(200), a data driver(500), and a gate driver(600). Plural data and gate lines are formed on the display panel. The timing controller outputs first and second driving control signals to the display panel. The data driver generates a data signal corresponding to an image according to the first driving control signal and outputs the data signal to the data lines. The gate driver drives odd-numbered gate lines during one frame according to the second driving control signal. Then, the gate driver outputs a gate driving signal for driving even-numbered gate lines of the gate lines.
