PURPOSE:To decrease the thickness of a floppy disk device by fixing a couple of fixed iron cores including a permanent magnet to a housing in a plane, and forming teeth at the outer circumferential part of a rotating body. CONSTITUTION:A head supporter driving device 30 generates a turning force in proportion to the number of input pulses, the rotating body 31 is fitted fixedly around a rotating shaft 26 made of soft magnetic material, and the teeth are formed at the outer circumference of the rotating body 31 by constant pitch P. The teeth of the rotating body 31 face the permanent magnet 32, and a couple of fixed iron cores 33 and 34 made of soft magnetic material are arranged closely at both sides in a magnetization direction to clamp the permanent magnet 32, which is fixed to the housing 35. The fixed iron cores 33 and 34 are nearly in a U-shape and projection parts 33a and 33b, and 34a and 34b of them have teeth on end surfaces facing the outer circumferential part of the rotating body 31 at the same pitch P with the rotating body 31 to constitute magnetic poles respectively. |
