<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a regulator valve 1 capable of preventing a piston 19 from being excessively lifted by increasing the braking capacity of the piston 19 without impairing responsiveness. <P>SOLUTION: This regulator valve 1 sets the gradient of an opening area characteristic obtained by a time when the piston 19 fully opens a relief hole 23 when the piston 19 moves in a valve opening direction so that it is equal to the same value as in a conventional regulator valve, and after the piston 19 fully opens the relief hole 23, sets the gradient of the opening area characteristic so that it is larger than that in the conventional regulator valve.
